Chapter 1: "Brand New Day"
The sun shines bright and the skies are blue, just the perfect weather to start the semester. Just in an old complex of buildings at the center of Klieverde Island, the oldest Mythos campus stood lively. Sounds of various students chattering, some showing off their mythos forms to their new peers, sharing their excitement on what the future in this campus would hold. Between those students, one walks through the crowds and the orientation stalls. A freshman, Elliot Reese, took his first careful yet enthusiastic step into the campus.ㅤㅤ“Arriving here after hearing all the buzz about the campus feels so surreal… Is it how it feels to be surrounded by people who are just like you?” He mumbled to himself.

Tall old buildings of The Baastianse cast a calming shade, providing both a sense of comfort and mystery to its surroundings. Elliot couldn’t help but admire its architecture, and how contrast the building looks against its colorful, cheerful variety of students.ㅤㅤ“I can’t wait to see what we’re going to experience here. Whatever it is, I hope it’ll bring something good to the world.”Elliot approaches one of the statues standing tall in the middle of the school, and gently places his hand on the statue’s foot. Wishing himself luck to whatever he’s going to face in the future. And with a smile, he heads towards the dorms to find his room.
Meanwhile, outside the campus is now filled with new and fresh faces, and even returning old ones. Starting from students to faculty members. And among those faces, includes yours.Arriving on campus for a new semester, some might be thrilled and while some do not. Students gathering just by the entrance gates, making new friends, or just admiring the campus. While most of the faculties are preparing for materials and have meetings to familiarize themselves with the new members and environment. In what situation do you find yourself in?

EPILOGUE
In the faculty room, the cold AC brings chills downwards the spine of professors and assistants staying there. The door within the office swung open, and a surge of warm air rushed into the room. The old averil librarian steps into the faculty room, slowly trailing into the dean’s desk, leaving a tap tap tapping sounds as he walks through the room. Arriving at Divya’s office door, Abraham greets the professor with a knock. A few moments later, a voice lets him in, and Abraham enters and closes the door behind him.Approaching her desk, Abraham spots the golden retriever resting at the corner of the room, giving it a blank, unassuming stare before returning his attention to the professor.ㅤㅤ“Miss Kumar, I apologize for the intrusion, but are we moving forward with the new 'Mythos Skills and Proficiency' program?”Divya, without lifting her head, replies in her usual gleeful and polite tone,
ㅤㅤ“Of course Mr. Clement! I need to adjust a few things since there are more students than we anticipated, but everything should be going according to the first plan. Course will be mandatory for every student, similar to scientific researches classes which will be mixed and able to be attended from students of every faculty. We just need to finish the materials needed and we're good to go!”ㅤㅤ“Good to hear.”Abraham then let out a sigh of relief. He walks around Divya’s room for a little while, contemplating. The look on his face is anything but calm. Furrowed brows, a worried frown, and a few hair strands can be seen out of place, which is very unlikely of him. He moves around, tapping his cane to wherever he walks.ㅤㅤ“Mr…. Clement, I apologize but the sound of your cane distracts me. Is there something on your mind?”Abraham then halts his movemen in an abrupt,ㅤㅤ“Ah. Apologies once again, It’s… Nothing of concern, for now at least. I just worry for the…… students and faculty members.”Divya sat there for a while, not saying anything. There was a long, empty pause. While Divya couldn't exactly see where Abraham is, his stare, silence and tension tells Divya everything. He is worried for something else, not the students, not the faculty members; she noted down herself. It is a difficult position for Divya. She is not there to judge, nor to question her senior. All she could do right now, is to help him with whatever this is. At least for now. And after a long while, she turns to Abraham and lets out a comforting smile.ㅤㅤ“I’m sure they will be fine, Mr. Clement. We will do our best to teach them what they need to know. I will supervise and gives out lecture within the program directly.”Abraham's worry didn't leave his expression. Something truly bothered him. But it seems as of now, there is nothing he's sharing with Divya. It's difficult, but if Abraham worries this much and he has not much input on the matter, then there is nothing they can do except to prepare everyone. For everyone's sake.ㅤㅤ“Well then, I shall not bother you any longer, Miss Kumar. If you need any assistance, do let me know. I will help with keeping watch and observe of the students and faculty's progresses. Have a great afternoon, Miss Divya, and good luck.” *Abraham then gives her a little nod, turns around and trails off, leaving Divya’s room with heavy steps and makes his way back to the library. As the door closes on Divya’s door, the tension also leaves the room. Divya lets out a long sigh and can finally relaxes her shoulders, slumping on her chair.Divya turns her head to her trusty companion, reaching her hand out to give the little guy a pat on the head.ㅤㅤ“…I can sense something is very wrong, Patchy. But I know he will share his concerns when he knows the time is right. Hope we all can get through this just fine.”*

Chapter 2: "What You Know"
Elliot’s class has ended for today. The professor dismissed the class, and the students started to pack up and leave the class. Elliot had to stay for a while to copy some notes from the whiteboard.ㅤㅤ“There were students missing mid-school events?”Elliot’s attention breaks as he hears a couple of students chatter while packing behind him. His hand pauses writing for a moment, his body stiffens listening to the sentence.ㅤㅤ“Yeah thank heavens they’re alright though. But… A few nights ago. Heard there was knocking sounds around campus. Creepy as heck.”ㅤㅤ“Ugh. Must’ve been pranks, that one. Maybe the missing students are the ones who pulled the pranks? Ha! Anyway, what are you gonna bring for..…”The students eventually leave. Elliot glances over his shoulder to check out the students, hoping that he would take a glimpse of who it was and perhaps he could inquire more of the things happening in campus. Though sadly it was no one that he knew of. Elliot sighs and decides to push the thoughts to the back of his head, focusing back on the notes he has.ㅤㅤ“Could it be a coincidence?”A woman’s voice asks in whispers. In a panic, Elliot immediately shifts his look towards the source of the voice, finding a pale girl with slick and tidy midnight-black hair, mumbling to herself. Realizing it was not a ghost but rather a familiar classmate, Elliot sighs in relief. The girl turns to him, glaring with her emerald green eyes.ㅤㅤ“Do you think it's a coincidence?”
ㅤㅤ

ㅤㅤ
ㅤㅤ“What-”ㅤㅤ“Students missing in the library. Weird sightings in campus grounds. Then the weird noises in the hallways. Those weren't pranks. The students here are not methodical enough to make those kinds of pranks.” She pauses her trails of words for a little, to catch her own breath.ㅤㅤ“Then SMSH suddenly announced there would be a mandatory ‘program’ that would help us harness–whatever’s magic inside us. Tch. As if we need training.”The girl looks and sounds angry. Upset, even. Upset at the spooky events, at the prank, at the program, or at everything in general, he can’t tell. Elliot just sits awkwardly in his seat. Glancing around like a lost puppy, not knowing what to make of the situation he’s in with the weird girl he is talking to.ㅤㅤ“Sorry. Obsessed. Anyway, Sarah Worthington.”Sarah, still has her lips furled into a frown, offers Elliot a hand. Awkwardly, he reaches for Sarah’s hand, and she shakes it, firm.ㅤㅤ“E…Elliot Reese.”ㅤㅤ“Ok. I'll call you nerd.” * Sarah scoffs and packs up her bag. There was a long pause as Sarah kept her emerald eyes on Elliot. As if she's trying to... pierce onto his soul. Something kept her in place. Something interests her. And it sends chills down to Elliot's spine.ㅤㅤ"Something is off about you."* She adds a remark, "and certainly it isn't the good kind."And with that, Sarah trails off from the class, leaving Elliot alone to take up whatever he just heard and notified to him. What... was that all about?
As Divya announced the new SMSH program, every student and faculty are said to participate within, like how one’s basic classes on campus would. After going through a few basics, theory and lecture classes, Divya announced there would be outdoor activities included; the practice part of the studies. As a form of training, Divya tasked the professors to test out the students’ understanding within the program, hoping for it to be a success. With all that put in mind, in what situation do you find yourself in?

EPILOGUE
As holidays came to the corner, the town went into a calm moment where almost everyone went back to their respective homes to celebrate with their loved ones. It’s all fitting now that the new program almost washed everyone’s energies, and thus it is the perfect time to rest and recharge. That includes our young Elliot too. Spending time with the only family member in town to gather himself back, along with his grandfather. With nothing much to do, he sits in the living room of his grandfather’s house, Elliot turns the television on.ㅤㅤ“....The campers have been found safe and sound. One person has suffered a grave injury, and now is being treated in Angus Memorial Hospital. Investigation on what might have caused the injury is still ongoing by the Klieverde’s Police Department.”The news anchor on the television is seen to have stood in front of a crowd, displaying the Golden Grove camp sign behind him. It’s fortunate that they were respectful enough not to show a glimpse of the victims, and Elliot can’t help but share the worry and anxiety. I’m glad they’re found. And in a sudden, his phone beeps. Taking his phone up, the screen shows ‘1 message from Sarah’. Without further ado, he opens the chat.
ㅤ
ㅤㅤSarah: “Saw the news?”
ㅤㅤElliot: “Yeah. It’s really scary out there 🙁”
ㅤㅤSarah: “You should be scared. Did you know the victims are basically from our campus? The one who got gravely injured? An SCLJ professor.”ㅤㅤElliot went silent for a moment. It’s two times now that disappearance has occurred on the campus—no, the island. Circling the campus, no less. Whether it be the students or even the campus itself. What’s going on? Why now, of all times?ㅤㅤSarah: “You there, nerd?”
ㅤㅤElliot: “Yeah... Just taking things in. It’s a lot. First, Halloween, and now… In Golden Groves? In a span of a few months? And the training program… Does it have anything to do with… These?”
ㅤㅤSarah: “IDK the answer but you’re sharp, for a nerd and a newbie. It’s a good thing, because you’re the best candidate I can ask for help with.”The request takes Elliot aback. He just got in this semester, and most likely, Sarah is too. What is she trying to get him tangled in? Thoughts run into Elliot’s mind as he tries to think for a response. He has dozens of questions. Something tells him that Sarah knows more than she lets on. He has to be careful. With anxiety and curiosity mixed into one, he mustered up himself to reply, grabbing his phone to type.
ㅤ
ㅤㅤElliot: “Why me? What for??”
ㅤㅤSarah: “Because half the campus’ concern is just drinking their lives out with a drink, partying until they’re numb and dumb. You’re decent enough.”She’s dodging the answer. And for what reason?ㅤㅤElliot: “Hey. Not everyone is like that…”
ㅤㅤSarah: “Yeah right and my mom’s the president. In any case, I need your help to investigate these disappearances, and… I sensed something in you. I think you might be valuable to us.”
ㅤㅤElliot: “Us? Hold on, I haven’t agreed to this”
ㅤㅤSarah: “You will. You don’t have any options. We’ll talk it out in the library, I’ll let you know the time and date soon. Good bye.”Sarah then went offline. Leaving Elliot in a stump. Leaning back to the chair with a sigh, Elliot puts his phone away. Seems like he’s not going to get anything out via text… Would it be worth it if he follows with what Sarah wants? Well, only one way to find out.

Somewhere in the deeper parts of Kliev's library, Clement is sitting down on his chair, head hanging low, resting his forehead on his hand, prompted by his walking cane. His hair is tousled all over the place. Short and shallow breathing follows. The room around him is dark. Silent. Whereas he usually finds comfort in darkness and solitude–but this time, he does not.The silence deafens him. It drains him. Slowly killing him as the darkness itself tried to swallow himself whole. He never felt like this before. Black ooze starts to soak around his skin, spilling out, as if he’s melting into a tar of black goo.“No…” He muttered. Lights slowly flicker around him. Something is crawling in the dark. Scratching its way to him.“"̴͕̯̝͂̏̚b̵̙̎̉͊̇͛͘r̶̛̙̤̻̣͚͐̉͑ǫ̴̲̪̙̪͍̈ṱ̸͒ȟ̷̡̰̦͂̕͠͠͝e̶̦͖͐̚͜ͅr̶͍̓̀̇̊͗̄.̸̛̥̤̩̍.̸͓̱͆̌.̴͙͉͗̍̊̓̍͗"̷͈̬̲̠̳͊̒͑̈́͛͘ A sound whispered.

In a surge of anxiety, anger, and threat, a splurge of dark, inky tentacles explodes around him. Tainting the whole room in black, gooey ink, sending the voice away, holding them back once more. The room now feels empty again. Truly empty. For once, the darkness feels like home again. Clement musters up his energy to stand up, shakily and groggily holding onto his walking cane. Standing in the middle of the room, he observes the mess he had made.“...for the first time in millennia… Why now?”

Chapter 3: "This is How I Disappear"
It was quite unusual for Elliot to be dragged into campus in the middle of a semester break like this. Especially when there’s expected to be a blizzard soon. Sarah had easily explained to Elliot’s grandfather that he needed to come along to help a professor with something, a research trip, and easily enough he had let Elliot go.Arriving on campus, Sarah had instructed him to follow a very specific direction she gave him. It’s a rather unorthodox way of navigating around the campus. Why does she tell me to circle the hall four times before heading upstairs? Questions aside, he followed suit. Eventually he spotted a door that was marked on Sarah’s instruction. Weird. There wasn’t supposed to be a door there.Entering the room, it was just another classroom, but it looks older, everything smells like old woods, and the window is beautifully decorated, the outside indicates that this must be the west side of campus. But… That doesn’t make sense. I was just in the center area.ㅤㅤ“How did- What is this place?”Elliot’s blinks in confusement as he looks around the room. Waiting for Sarah who’s attention seems to be fully on her phone. It takes a while for her to reply, with an angry furrowed brow and a tired sigh, she finally replies.ㅤㅤ“Obviously a classroom.” Sarah answered briefly.
ㅤㅤ“Sit down and wait until Mr. Clement comes. He’s gonna brief us the details for our assignment.”ㅤㅤ“Mr. Clement? The assignment came from HIM? Personally? A-And- why is there a class room here?!”ㅤㅤ“You ask TOO many questions, you know that?”Elliot sunk back to his seat. Pouting. Though, he does have the right to know. All he knew is that they were to extract an artifact, but from where, he wasn’t informed as of yet. As he was about to drop another question to the witch, the door swung open. With both of the students’ attention to the door, Clement entered the room and signed them a small wave, followed with his usual polite smile. Surprisingly, he’s not alone. A hooded figure is following him. He looks short, yet what’s strikingly suspicious is that the figure had claws for feet and his tail is covered in scales instead of fur like Lycans does.ㅤㅤ“Evening, Ms. Worthington, Mr. Reese.”Walking up to the two students, Elliot couldn’t help but feel off at his presence. This man felt cold. Not like the winter, but like those nights where you are all alone and surrounded in darkness. In void. The feeling had turned Elliot pale, his green eyes flashing in wary. Though, his fear immediately broke as the other figure popped his hood down and waves at them both.ㅤㅤ“Hello!”Sarah and Elliot’s eyes went wide as they saw the figure in front of them. Pale white snout with spiky tendrils, rows of sharp teeth, glistening scales covering his skin. Could it be….ㅤㅤ“A dinosaur-!?"
ㅤㅤ“A Scale-Kin, you ignorant moron!” Sarah interrupted, smacking Elliot on the shoulder. “A live one… I always knew Scale-Kins are real, but… To see one up close? You ARE a Scale-Kin, correct? No Lycans could turn into a reptilian like.. this!”
ㅤㅤ“Yes! In the flesh! I’m Ssnowscale, by the way”
ㅤㅤ“Sarah. Pardon my partner here, he’s a little lost.”The Scale-Kin grins and just nods. Offering his hand-claws to shake with. He doesn’t seem to be taking offense to what the other kids are saying, so he just nods and laughs along. Mr. Clement soon interrupted the conversation with a small cough, gaining the three’s full attention to him.ㅤㅤ“Now that introductions are made, I shall not dawdle much. Have you all made aware that I need the three of you to locate me a peculiar…. artifact?”Elliot nods. Exchange glances with Sarah, then to Snowscale, who also gives Clement a nod.ㅤㅤ“Good. I’m cutting this short because we don’t have much time left.”

Tapping his cane to the floor, a swirl of light appeared in the middle of the room. Almost looking like one of those holograms in sci-fi movies, but this one looks as clear as day. Elliot’s eyes widen as he sees it. The pool shows a place he’s never seen before. Within the pool of light, there they see it: a place tangled in webs. Spiders scurrying everywhere and in every corner. Soon, the pool shows a limp body of a gorgeous woman with six hands, draped in black, faded gown, a rapier, stabbed onto her unmoving body.ㅤㅤ“....Corpse of The Queen’s mortal body, and the artifact I needed you to fetch.”While observing the pool, Mr. Clement then explains to them how they should tread this little mission. Sarah, acting as the guide to navigate around to the artifact from outside, and both Elliot and Snowscale to retrieve it. It sounds simple enough, but something itches at the back of Elliot’s mind. He could sense a familiarity. But at the same time, everything… felt so surreal to him. What… Is all this?ㅤㅤ“When are we going, then?”Clement’s eyes went to Sarah as she asked the question, in which only he replied with a smile. Clement once again taps his cane onto the floor, making the pool disappear into thin air and he waits. Clement observes the ceilings quietly, and everyone follows suit. Silence fills the air for a little while, nobody dared to say anything. Then a small spider makes its way to the exit.
With a tap of his cane, suddenly the lights flickered, and went off.ㅤㅤ“Now would be the perfect time.”
It is still semester break. Though, with the upcoming end to the wintry nights, comes the thought of a new semester. Some of you might have been sticking around campus or not, spending time with friends and family, or all by yourself. It’s all great and relaxing, you thought. Unti, in one day, the island was showered in a massive blizzard, there’s a blackout on campus. A lot of people got locked in where they were; homes, dorms, malls, and some even in the campus itself. With all that put in mind, in what situation do you find yourself in?

EPILOGUE
Rushing. Hushing. The sounds of a thousand, skittering legs and chelicerae clicks and echoes around the area. Everything seems to be rushing towards them. Hunting them. Chasing after them. Especially after Elliot managed to pull away the artifact–which happens to be a rapier–from under their noses with ease, thanks to his abilities. But now, everything is in a rush. Snowscale, Sarah and Elliot had been running, avoiding the spiders in their own nest. Making sure they return to their homes safely.ㅤㅤ“Which way, Snowscale?!” *Sarah yells as she warded and threw off the spiders jumping their way. Snowscale sniffs the air, his porcelain white snout poking out from his hoodie to different directions.ㅤㅤ“Here!”*
ㅤㅤ
Snowscale darts off towards a narrow passageway. In panic, Elliot and Sarah follow suit without complaints. As they went through, it gave them enough time to hide away from the bigger spiders. Slowly they could hear their voices fade as they went deeper into the passageway, all surrounded by cobwebs and smaller, harmless spiders. Giving them a brief time to take a breath.ㅤㅤ“Elliot,” Sarah calls out, approaching the ginger with a tap on his shoulder,
ㅤㅤ“The artifact. Is.. Is it supposed to.. do that? It wasn't like that before you picked it up, right...?”As Sarah points at the rapier, and as Elliot looks down, just between the rapier’s intricate quillons…. a flesh of a heart seems to beat between its ribs. With a look of fear and concerned exchange between the two, Elliot and Sarah began to have doubts and worry in their minds. What is this exactly? What is going on here?ㅤㅤ“Ellie! Miss Ssssarah! I ssssee the exit! Hurry!”With another quick exchange between the two, they gave each other a nod before catching up with Snowscale, eventually finding themselves out of the spider realm and back to the world.
ㅤ----------
The stench of sulfuric acid still lingers on their bodies. Snowscale, Sarah and Elliot rests on the benches of the classroom they were in before, now all lit up and back to its usual state. Catching their breaths as Mr. Clement and Ms. Divya checks on them.ㅤㅤ“No traces, marks nor curses from the Queen on them?”
ㅤㅤ“They’re clear, Mr. Clement.”
ㅤㅤ“Good.”Clement lets out a relieved sigh and returns his attention to the three of them.ㅤㅤ“I believe I owe Mr. Reese an explanation…”Clement walks up to Elliot, his cane thuds and echoes around the empty classroom. He takes a seat next to Elliot, showing a gesture of a man who seems to look old, harmless and tired. Yet Elliot kept his guard up. Eyeing on him curiously yet warily at the same time.ㅤㅤ“After what we see there? With all due respect I need more than explanation, Mr. Clement.”
ㅤㅤ“I’m sure you do.”Clement takes a deep breath, exhaling as he eyes Divya to tend to Sarah and Snowscale. With a nod, Divya heads to both of them and converses on the other side of the classroom. In an earshot, talking something about a deal they were promised for helping Clement with this artifact. Returning to Elliot, he rests his hand and cane on his lap.
ㅤㅤ
ㅤㅤ“At this point you’re aware that you–both humes and mythos–are not the only creatures that reside in this….world. Moreover, things from the other side has started to leak even more than it already has.”A subtle hesitance hinted as Clement mentioned the word world. As if he’s trying to make things sound as simple as he could.ㅤㅤ“The Queen–or as I personally know her myself as Araneia–Is one of the powerful, ancient eldritch beings that existed before the era of Humes and Mythos. And perhaps as some of you had guessed… I am one, too.”Elliot looks at Clement with an eyebrow raised. Then it turns into a furrow, followed with a wary frown.ㅤㅤ“So you’re saying you’re… Some kind of a ‘god’?”Clement chuckles at the genuine question.ㅤㅤ“If people like to think so, I might be. But in actuality, I merely exist. In what label I was given I simply do not see myself as anything but.”
ㅤㅤ“Then… You’re just supervising this campus out of the kindness of your heart?---eh. If.. If you have one, that is. Figuratively.”
ㅤㅤ“No. I do not have a physical heart.”Clement lets out a huff. His finger taps onto his cane as he waits and counts for something.ㅤㅤ“I am here because this campus and my interests align for the time being. Being with this campus is a huge… ‘asset’ for me. And right now, this campus–perhaps even this island–is in grave danger. And I do not want to lose my assets now, if that makes sense to you.”
ㅤㅤ
Elliot bit his tongue to not say anything in response to that. If anything, he is… terrified. Either by the fact that an ancient being telling him that this island is in danger, or the fact that an ancient being literally has their grasp around this campus. But at least, from what he knew, this being in front of him has not shown any malice. Unlike the one he saw inside the spider realm, nor…the ones that are gossiped to lurk the campus halls, and even haunting the camps. Maybe, just maybe, he’s the only being he could trust as of now. At least until Elliot grasps with whatever is going on around the island.ㅤㅤ“Alright,” Divya suddenly pipes in along with Sarah and Snowscale next to her.
ㅤㅤ“I’ve arranged Ms. Worthington’s access to contact the faes, and I’ve arranged Snowscale’s official enrollment to our campus, both as promised.”Divya smiles and claps her hands together in excitement.ㅤㅤ“In our next enrollment, we should officially be able to enroll students and faculty that are proficient in Fae and Scale-Kin magic. This will be a huge step for our campus–no, our world, in fact!”In return, Clement smiles. He takes his cane and props himself to stand up. Giving one last look at Elliot, he places his hand on Elliot’s shoulders and grips them tight. A shock runs through Elliot’s mind as if he just hit with a massive headache. Fortunately, it only lasted a few seconds until Elliot regained himself again.ㅤㅤ“Oh Mr. Reese; I would prefer if you keep this knowledge to yourself.”With the leftover ringing still echoes in his mind, Elliot replied; “Yeah. Okay.”
And with a smile, Clement lets go of his grip and leaves with the artifact on his hands.

Intermission: "After Dark"
Another sleepless night on campus. But this time, it’s for a good reason. Mr. Clement has requested Elliot directly to meet him after 8pm in the campus library, alone. Sarah and Snowscale aren't gonna be there, and it only adds up to the lump of his anxiety. Making his way to the library, Elliot’s hands started to sweat. The sharp pain in his head he had from earlier had made its way back. Something isn’t right. But he had to muster himself up to continue walking. Whatever it was, he can only hope it fades with a little medicine.Arriving in the library, chill starts running back down his spine.
Something felt terribly off in the library.
Yet he needs to gulp down his fears and meet with the professor. It was weird not finding the library locked at this hour. Usually the curfew is super tight. Maybe it was an exception for tonight. With a cold hand, Elliot pushes the heavy door, making it creak loudly, generally announcing his welcome to the library. It was all quiet and the lights were dim. The air felt terribly cold and damp around him. With nervous footsteps, Elliot makes his way into the library. The door behind him creaks loudly once more, ending it with a BANG and a click. It’s locked isn’t it? It always is in horror movies. Every corner of the library is dark, the dim light doesn’t even help in figuring out where everything is.ㅤㅤ“M..Mr. Clement? Sir?”There was no response. Though, at one corner of the library, Elliot spots something round, floating. …And it’s blinking? An eye? Floating away, Elliot decides to follow it. Soon, one by one more of the eyes start to appear and head to the same spot somewhere deeper into the library.More,
More,
And more. The eyes start to lump and meld together and turn into a bunch of black tar, melting together while some eyes remain around, keeping its attention toward Elliot. Soon the mound grew larger and larger, floating in the middle of the library and as it fills almost the entirety of the room, a large eye spuns from its core and lands its gaze into the terrified vanguis.ㅤㅤ“REESE… OF RAITH.”Elliot stood frozen on his two feet. The voice. It’s Clement, but at the same time, it is not? The creature in front of him feels massive, thousands of olive-tinted eyes protruding from its black tar of a ‘body’, blinking one by one as the other keeps its cold gaze through his soul.ㅤㅤ“Mr. Clement?”
ㅤㅤThe large core eye at the center of the body just blinks, once.
ㅤㅤ“...CTHOTHE IS MY TRUE NATURE, CHILD OF RAITH. PLEASE, REFER ME AS ONE.”

Elliot could only stare at its eye, not knowing what to do. He was fully aware that Clement isn’t… Clement, but this? Whatever this is, it’s beyond his understanding.ㅤㅤ“A-Alright, Cthothe-” did I pronounce it correctly.. “-what do you need from me?”The eye, once again, just blinks. It tilts a few degrees, as if assessing something, then returns its initial position before giving another continuous blink from each of its smaller eyes.ㅤㅤ“YOUR BLOOD.”Elliot eyes widen and he furrows his brows, his pale skin just grew paler at the notion. Yet, the creature only replies in an amused, thundering amalgamation of a thousand chuckles, as if it just gave an oscar-worthy jumpscare to the poor child.ㅤㅤ“BE AT EASE, CHILD OF RAITH. IT IS ONLY A FIGURE OF SPEECH.”The black tar of its body slowly extends into tentacles that are spiraling and making its way toward the middle of the room. It slowly splits into smaller tentacles, peeling from the other like how a flower would bloom, presenting the rapier at its core. The eye now directs its gaze towards it, signaling to Elliot to approach.ㅤㅤ“TAKE IT.”Approaching closer warily, Elliot held the rapier in his hand, and once again, the once dormant ‘heart’ between its quillons slowly started to beat every time his hand wielded it. Why does it keep doing that?ㅤㅤ“FAMINE. A RAPIER CRAFTED BY THE ANCIENT VANGIUS… AND ONLY BY THEIR BLOOD IT WOULD RESPOND TO.”
ㅤㅤ“I.. I have the blood of an ancient vanguis? How?”Confused, Elliot looks at the creature, as if looking for answers. In return, Cthothe seems to set their eyes on Elliot and stays quiet for a while. A silence that somehow reflects frustration in the creature's hundreds and thousands of eyes.ㅤㅤ“IT IS NOT A KNOWLEDGE I YET POSSESS.”
ㅤㅤIt replied, in a tone full of disdain.Cthothe’s tentacles retreating almost immediately after handing out the rapier, giving Elliot some space to properly hold and take a swing of the rapier, while actively avoiding making contact with its blade. And as Elliot was about to try and take another swing, his head began to sting once more. Leaving him to wince in pain at the awful ringing in his head, and the ringing slowly began to replace with the heartbeat of the rapier. Thump. Thump. Thump. His heartbeat began to match the rapier, and it was all he could hear.Everything turns dark for a brief moment. Afterwards, Elliot finds himself sitting on a chair, breathing heavily with the rapier still beating on his hand. Everything still felt blurry and he felt weak. All he could pick up was the voice of the old man. Looking up, the massive entity was no longer at the center of the room, only to find it walking around in Clement’s body, yet his head is none other than a smaller version of the eldritch creature, just waiting just by the door.…Conversing with someone he hasn't seen before.ㅤㅤ"Is the temporal dimension ready? You managed to get her into my realm?"
ㅤㅤ"Yes, My Lord. Though… If I may voice my concerns, there was slight unexpected intervention. I'm worried if there's a few souls getting dragged into this mess and possibly endanger their safe—"
ㅤㅤ"WE DO NOT HAVE THE LUXURY NOR TIME FOR ANOTHER NIGHT, RAYMOND."The one referred to as Raymond stays in deathly silence when Cthothe scolds him in his true tone. With a few sounds of shuffling, it was quite obvious that Raymond is seen clenching his fists and shows disagreement towards Cthothe’s dismissive gesture. Yet eventually, his grip loosened.ㅤㅤ"...Understood, My lord."
ㅤㅤ"Good."Elliot could hear the other figure leave the room in a hurry, making a run for it like lives are dependent on it. Because unfortunately for him, he was right. Slowly, the sound of running is replaced by the tap of Cthothe's cane coming closer to where Elliot is seated.ㅤㅤ“Now, with everything in set for the night…."With a singular tentacle creeping out from under Cthothe's coat, he lifts Elliot's chin up to face him.ㅤㅤ"If you would be so kind, Mr. Reese. Now is your turn to help me pacify my dear sister.”

Chapter 4: "Sound of Silence"
The sun shines bright and the skies are blue, just the perfect weather to start the new semester. Stepping foot into the campus, Elliot feels… Familiar. It was exactly a year ago that he first set foot on the campus, and in a span of a year, he managed to experience things that no freshman should. Haunted halls, coming up with the knowledge that ancient beings reside in proximity, and not to mention; him slaining one just a few months ago.ㅤㅤ“Arriving here after all that… I’m not sure I could be normal about it, but here we are. New year, new semester.” He mumbled to himself, “I should probably try to think nothing has happened. Try not to scare the freshmen, Elly! You’re a senior now!”Elliot went through the halls, with a subtle worry on his mind that the creature would make a comeback; or worse, another one. Living with the knowledge after experiencing one of these things never seems to be easy for one. Plus, it was made certain after he shared the documents of these Elder Beings to the students in the groupchats. Some repsonded with terror, some... confusion. But at least to him, little did Elliot know, some of you have gone through the similar experience as he.
ㅤ----------
Stepping into the first class of the day, Elliot takes a deep breath and grabs a seat. It’s a SMSH 0114 class now. A new material for today, as he heard. He looks around to find new faces. Snowscale is there, but Sarah is nowhere to be seen. When he looked around, his eye met with a boy with a piercing, cold silver gaze. He has a distinctive middle-eastern look about him. Dark skin, curly dark hair, sunken eyes that seem to look right past Elliot. Who is he?

Not long after, Professor Divya makes her way in, breaking his thought and attention.ㅤㅤ“Alright class, welcome to the new semester of SMSH. Hope you have a great holiday? Anyway, good to see you again, along with a new face it seems. Welcome!” The class then responds with a murmur, some appear to have giggled over Divya’s joke knowing that she’s legally blind.Elliot smiles along with the professor’s joke. She’s a powerful witch after all, Divya being able to see in other methods? Nothing is impossible at this point. Elliot shuffles on his seat, anxiously waiting for Divya’s pleasantries to end. Divya ended her greetings and started to present a screen to the whole class. And as the first slide drops in, Elliot takes a deep breath.ㅤㅤ“Today, we’ll have a new topic to discuss.
ㅤㅤWhat do you know about Old Gods?”

EPILOGUE
There have only been a few classes regarding the Old Gods, but Elliot has been able to put two-on-two together, at least from his perspective. After finishing today’s SMSH class, Elliot packs his bag as he dwells into the past memories he had. The sword, the disappearances, the monsters. The Hand; Azagoth. One of the old gods. He still couldn’t believe he managed to prevent one of these gods to re-surface. But he knew for certain he wasn’t alone in achieving the feat; Regardless if I was the one who held the sword or not, it seems like it took another ancient’s help to beat the other ancient. And to him, that sounds troubling.
Elliot’s train of thoughts breaks as he notices someone walks up to his seat, staring down at him. Clad in black cardigan and white shirt, it was the boy with the pale eyes and curly hair.ㅤㅤ“Reese of house Raith, right?”He asked, voice as lazy as his stare under his hooded eyes.ㅤㅤ“Yes? …You are?”
ㅤㅤ“Amir. Al-Ghalia exchange student.”He didn’t say anything more to indulge, only to extend his own hand for a shake with the ginger. And he did, Elliot took his hand—which felt unexpectedly terribly cold to touch–and shook it.ㅤㅤ“I heard you kill a god.”
ㅤㅤAmir asks and just straight up takes a seat on his table and on top of Elliot’s books to prevent Elliot from going anywhere.
ㅤㅤ“With a magic sword regardless. Impressive. Care to share the details?”Elliot’s eyes just widened. At first he was taken aback to hear how exaggerated his efforts were, but then again Elliot had spent a few time through the campus’ group chats, at this point he realized he shouldn’t be surprised. Amir only stayed in silence, staring right at Elliot with his pale eyes as he just waited for Elliot’s answer.Amir leans away and steps down from the table, still standing next to Elliot. Elliot only looks at him in silence with a very confused look. This kid is weird. Moreover, he seems to know something from the looks if. How would he know about the sword? Elliot never did tell anyone about it to anyone. Is Cthothe behind this again?
A voice echoes in Elliot’s mind as he asks the question in his mind, a firm voice immediately answers “NO. I DO NOT PERCEIVE THIS YOUNG MAN’S INTENTION… NOR WHO HE SERVES… PROCEED CAUTIOUSLY.”And Elliot snaps back, looking back up at Amir who’s now tilting his head lazily as he waits for Elliot to say something. Elliot just takes a deep breath, nervously sits there as this Amir just kept on waiting. Uncannily patient, like he’s not going to leave until Elliot says something.ㅤㅤ“It was exaggerated. I just happened to be there, helping.”
ㅤㅤAmir then just snorts mockingly, chuckling at how humble Elliot sounds.
ㅤㅤ“Right. Just helping. But I know you know something.”Amir takes out his phone, scrolling for a bit, and shows it to Elliot. Rows and rows of articles about sightings, supernatural occurrences, even people disappearances.. All mainly focused around each Mythos campuses around the world. Elliot’s eyebrows furrow as he learns of how dire things look like. While these articles were mostly small, it’s worrying enough to know that similar things are happening almost everywhere.ㅤㅤ“You’ve seen the news; Kliev is haunted. Justinia is haunted. Pantai Selatan is haunted. Word is something happened in the Caribbean Seas and I’m sure more is bound to happen.”Amir takes his phone back abruptly, putting it back to his pocket and puts his attention fully back to Elliot again.ㅤㅤ“We want to find out why. Find the roots of it.”
ㅤㅤ“You have something that could help us. We need that. And you have a voice in your head telling you what to do and if you want it to stop..."Elliot eyes widen as Amir gestures to his own head. Did he know? Did he hear them too? These Old Gods?ㅤㅤ"From the look on your face, I was right."
ㅤㅤElliot looks at Amir right on his face, furrowing his brows.
ㅤㅤ"Amir. Tell me what you know, and I'll consider helping.”
ㅤㅤ"Deal."

You. You find yourself doing everyday stuff you usually do. Studying, gaming, having a nice jog out in the woods or perhaps skipping class to laze around. It is a nice day for you. Other than the thoughts of uncertainty that fuels your everyday influence in such a way, everything else on this day has been going on just fine.Though, you are suddenly reminded of your past adventures. The uneasy feeling crept back making its way into your body and mind. You feel suddenly uneasy, even though you know nothing is happening right now. The thoughts then tugs your hand to reach your pocket. You feel something in your pocket. Reaching to it, you find… a coin. Not an ordinary coin, either, you think. The coin looks… unique. It’s black, matte in color, like a very dark and cold carved in such an intricate manner. In the middle, shows a subtle, dusty jade green diamond, and in closer look it’s as if the jade is a casing for a flowing water inside it. Your thumb brushes against its surface and you could see the green diamond in the middle of it shining a bit at your touch, like it recognizes you as its owner. You don’t know what to do with this coin as of yet. Yet you feel like it holds some kind of power. Better to just keep this around, for now…

Chapter 5: "My Blood"
News about what has happened in Bermuda City’s research center has made its way to the public media, although the details were still unclear and everything is still under investigation, the truth was obvious enough for students of KU. A trip went down that ended up a disaster, ironically enough almost like every other trip that happened in the past. Though, as months passed by, the investigation came to a halt–rumor has it that the official investigators put its findings under wraps. For what, only themselves could answer.Klieverde University, however, has been getting a lot of requests, e-mails and letters about Elder Being studies. Many students, professors and researchers alike started enrolling into KU–to SMSH to be precise, following the news. Letters by letters came by, Divya and Clement had been carefully sorting the requests, and three letters particularly stood in attention for them.First one from UJS, Second one from UPS, and third is from Al-Ghali.ㅤㅤ“Wax sealed, too…” Divya mutters as she runs her hands on the envelope, “Must’ve been something urgent.”Clement only gave her a slight nod, and took one of the letters.
Divya picked up a few, reading it for a while.ㅤㅤ“Oh… Interesting. UJS and UPS has personally requested for experts in Elder Being knowledge and anomalies. I’ve heard the news that things are happening out there, and I feel like it’s best we send out a few of us to at least help them prepare for these anomalies? Hmm.. But there’s only so few of us…”Divya sit on her chair and pouts, thinking on what’s best to do and to respond to the letters, “Perhaps I could go to UJS, and Langford could help with UPS? That way we–”ㅤㅤ“Miss… Kumar. You might want to read Al-Ghali’s letter and reconsider.”Clement frowns at the letter, the worry on his face feels prominent and it is something that even Divya rarely sees on him. Nervous, Divya took the Al-Ghali letter from him and began to read it. Line by line, Divya’s eyes follow through the letter and her brows furrow in worry. She returns to look at Clement, who’s now sharing her worries with.ㅤㅤ“I… I need to check on Al-Ghali.”
ㅤㅤ“You do. And might I suggest bringing a few of your students with you?”
ㅤㅤ“...Are you sure? I might not know what’s going to happen there.”
ㅤㅤ“Which makes it even more sure that you need backup. I hate to break it to you, Kumar, but Reese and Worthington have more experience in this matter than you do.”Divya sat in silence and looked away for a moment, trying to consider Clement’s offer and weighing its pros and cons. Would it be okay to bring students into this situation? Moreover, would whatever knowledge and truths we’ll uncover be worth sacrificing their innocence? And as if Clement read her thought, he responds, “Any knowledge is worth knowing than to be left in the dark, Ms. Kumar. At least they will be given the chance to prepare and defend themselves when the time comes.”

ㅤ----------
Packing his stuff in his room, Elliot puts in his mandatory necessities in his pack, and his eyes went towards one peculiar thing in his room: The Rapier he gained from his past adventure. Should I bring you along, o-mighty-god-slayer? Elliot stands up and picks the rapier up, swinging it and making motions of how one would do into a duel.ㅤㅤWould be great to have you as a backup, but you don’t exactly fit my pack.As Elliot was about to put the rapier down, its steel began to melt on his hands. Taken aback, Elliot worriedly watches as the steel and its core slowly forms around his wrists, wrapping around and begins forming into a bracelet.ㅤㅤ“Holy shit.”
ㅤㅤ“The nerd swears now? Wow.”Startled by the voice by the door, Elliot jumps to the side. His face shows terror for a moment, as if one’s seen a ghost–but the frown turns upside down as he figures who were on the door just now.ㅤㅤ“SARAH!” Elliot runs toward the dark-haired woman, “where have you been!?”
ㅤㅤ“Family business,” she answered short, “Not that it matters. Anyway, you're done packing?”
ㅤㅤ“Oh, Clement asks you to come too?”
ㅤㅤ“Duh. He knows you’re useless without me. We’re also gonna get a local to guide us.”
ㅤㅤ“Oh?”Sarah moves aside of Elliot’s door frame and gestures to a familiar, dark-haired person behind her. Elliot’s eyes widened. It’s him again. The one Cthothe warned me about earlier.ㅤㅤ“This is Amir, an Al-Ghali exchange student. He’ll be our tour-guide later in our little adventure.”
For this chapter, the route is divided not by roles but by the places you shall visit. Miss Divya has been personally requesting some of you faculty, students and staffs to accompany KU staff to two different destinations; UPS (Indonesia) and UJS (Romania). There, you would be expected to help in preparing a lecture to the members of the campus, sharing your experience in outworldly anomalies and events. Help your neighboring mythos campus to learn what you have learned so far! But if traveling isn’t your forte*, no worries! You can stay in KU (Canada) to help contributing knowledge to the community. KU has received a lot of visitors as of late, and you too, can share your experiences with them.
*You can chose not to go, but not participating in the event means by default your MC stays at Kliev Island.

CH5: UPS route

Located in a lonesome tropical island, Universitas Pantai Selatan (UPS) has been one of the largest and ancient Mythos universities in indonesia. Almost three quarters of its architecture is swallowed by the sea; giving this university an unexpected look from its outside and a more breathtaking look from its insides–an aquatic view in its underwater classes.

Located between the solitary hills of northern Romania, UJS exudes the most mysterious, mystical and secretive energy of all mythos universities in Romania. As it is one of the campuses that houses most Vanguises in its building, UJS is always surrounded and hidden by the mist. Giving its environment an eerie quiet and provides a solitary need for its residents who rather hide their secrets and leave it for dust to swallow.

EPILOGUE
As the exchange happens majorly on two fronts; University of Pantai Selatan and Universitatea Justina Szilagyi, Divya along with a few batches of students. Elliot Reese, Sarah Worthington, and Amir were sent to Al-Ghali for the exchange program. Although sent in the same manner, Divya had been warned that this one visit might prove the key to what has been happening as of late. Answering to Al-Ghali’s request, they arrive there to check on the anomalies mentioned in their letters.
ㅤㅤ
ㅤㅤ“Ms. Kumar, and Amir, good to see you again” an official figure wearing Al-Ghali’s signature black & golden robe greets their group, “I’m Khaled, history & literature professor of Al-Ghali. Pleasure to make your acquaintance.”
ㅤㅤ“Pleasure is ours, Mr. Khaled.”ㅤㅤ“Ah, please, first of all I have to apologize for the sudden request. We have been searching for an expertise in manners of Elders and Ancient Mythic field, but unfortunately even my mind alone won’t be able to figure out all the puzzle pieces.”
ㅤㅤ“You’re selling yourself short, Mr. Khaled. But we’re glad to be able to help in any way.”
ㅤㅤ“Marvelous. Much expected from Klieverde University. Come, follow me.”
ㅤㅤ
Following the campus’ officials, Divya, Elliot, Sarah and Amir went deeper into the campus. While the campus’ exteriors itself is modern, the deeper parts of the campus are seemingly melded well between the dull rocks of the desert and its modern architecture. Creating a feeling as if one is walking through an Egyptian museum. They eventually arrive at the lower level of the campus; Khaled showed the guards his ID, and allowed him and the rest of the KU members to enter.
ㅤㅤ
ㅤㅤ“Al-Ghali has magnificent architecture, Mr. Khaled. I noticed that the deeper we go the older the whole architecture is. What’s the brief history of this place, if I may ask?” Elliot asks, while admiring their trip down through the glass elevator.ㅤㅤ“As we all know, the majority of the Mythos Universities we have around the world are old; with Klieverde dating back as far as the 1800s, yes?”ㅤㅤElliot and Sarah nod, listening with great interest.ㅤㅤ“Al-Ghali–well, not the university, but the whole architecture of the place–is even older than that. While our campus is modern, it was built on top of an already existing, ancient Egyptian archival dating back to the Ptolemaic dynasty era. Unfortunately almost 90% of the archive is lost to the desert storm that flooded the place thousands of years ago, and we. students, scholars and experts alike are determined to recover what’s lost.”
ㅤㅤ

ㅤㅤ
The elevator goes deep down and on the outside, hundreds and dozens of shelves filled with books, scrolls, tomes, and even tablets being carefully arranged. Students, professors and the rest of the staff coming in and out of the massive library archives going on about their business. The group watched in awe as Khaled explained the brief history of the place.ㅤㅤ“The place is majestic… It must be hard to maintain all these.”
ㅤㅤ“Oh certainly. But we do it in pursuit of knowledge. After all, you would too, wouldn’t you?”Khaled glances a look at Elliot, giving a smile that clicks to him immediately. I sensed Cthothe’s influence on this person—wait, does he notice mine too?ㅤㅤ“Yeah… Yeah I certainly would.” Elliot just returns the smile nervously. The elevator then eventually slows down, stopping at a level that seems quieter than the rest of the floors. Khaled leads the group to the hallways. Workers, scientists and security filled the place, going back and forth, exchanging data, working on the excavation site. Elliot took the time to admire the whole place, watching over the pictures and carvings on the walls.ㅤㅤ“Lies at the heart of Al-Ghali is its nexus spot, and we are now at one of the historical spots of the first Mythos Civilization” Khalid proudly announced.Egyptian murals of people of ancient egyptian working on farms, crafts. All seems mundane and as what you expected of an egyptian murals, but the deeper they go the more the carvings show the people were split about their worship. The people that were opposed were depicted to have retreated underground, and started practicing worship to beings that seem all different from those of Egyptian mythologies. One figure that looks all familiar to Elliot stands out; a giant eyeball with tentacles sprawling all-over the murals. They worshiped Cthothe here, even eons ago…ㅤㅤSarah pointed at the tentacled figure on the mural, “Is that…”
ㅤㅤ“Cthothe, the Librarian, yes.” Khaled answers, “It has guided the lost people of ancient Egypt centuries ago, which led to the spectacle of a library that you all see before you.”
ㅤㅤ“So he has influence here…” Elliot mumbles.
ㅤㅤ“It has influence everywhere,” Amir flatly added.Reaching the deeper parts of the excavation area, Khaled carefully leads them to a tight gap between the murals. The group carefully follows, and inside, only lit by excavation lights, was a hidden chamber. One with more murals yet these looks less refined than those of the murals outside.
ㅤㅤ
ㅤㅤ“Now Ms. Kumar, this is the place I mentioned you in the letter, and the… Mural that we wanted you to check on,” Khaled lifts a light for a better view of the mural, and there it is: A crudely carved and faded mural.Everyone’s attention leads to the mural. A singular man wearing a dragon mask standing on the left side of the picture, one hand lifted towards a crudely carved, massive being that seems humanoid in shape—binded, yet has legs of a thousand, reddish veins. A body laid bare on the altar, seemingly depicting a sacrificial ritual. The whole interaction seems to be surrounded by a few other people in the background.Khaled then moves to another mural; the being in bind hovers on top of the masked person. Between the person and the red figure, a white polyhedral shape is drawn. In the middle of it, a cube shape with multi-facet as if drawn spinning in many colors–almost holographic—and around it waves of red spread around the mural, circular shapes. The red circles looks... sickly. Some of the people drawn outside outside of the proximity seems to be drawn affected by it. But it weren't clear on what.ㅤㅤ“It looks like a nexus spot..” Sarah murmurs.
ㅤㅤ“What is that cube…?” Elliot’s eyes remain on the cube shape in the middle. Why does it feel… Familiar?ㅤㅤ“This mural is unlike the rest we’ve restored. No records in our archives nor in other places that fit the depiction of this mural, and… I fear this is not a thing of the past.”Khaled then proceeds to explain when, and how they’ve uncovered the mural to the group. But Elliot—he is fixated to the mural. The feeling of familiarity washes over him, and he needed to know why. As Elliot’s hands were about to touch the mural, a sharp, agonizing pain hit him. With a pained cry, Elliot tumbles and falls to the ground. Khaled, Divya and Sarah immediately came to his aid–until they felt a shake on the ground.Soon, they see the air around them crack like invisible glass. Horror is painted on their faces, and Amir tries to look around to see if there’s a way for them to exit. Trying to claw his way out, the air only cracks even further, and as he pull his arms away he saw his hand pulled away, yet like a spirit split from his bodyㅤㅤ“The realms. It’s merging, and we’re caught in between” Amir announced,
ㅤㅤ“We are stuck here.”

Chapter 6: "Institutionalized"
With no news of those in Al-Ghali, Cthothe had grown restless. It is one of the places that it keeps close tabs on, so not being able to reach it worries it greatly. The level of alert is high. In his office, full in its giant, many-eyed tentacled form. Ooze of tentacles sprawled everywhere searching from shelves to shelves, book by book, paper by paper. Things are starting to be out of his control, and he does not like this.Amidst the panic, the door to the librarian’s office swung open.ㅤㅤ“Tell me you did not drag my sister into this, you motherf-”
ㅤㅤ“RAYMOND. NOW IS NOT THE TIME.”Raymond stomps his way into the library, fuming. Facing the elder being, Raymond stares and glares up directly at the largest, golden eyeball.ㅤㅤ“No, THIS is the right time.
You put her and many other kids in danger for years and now they’re stuck between realms. So you finally regret everything? Your greed to know of everything and anything at the price of your own 'pawns'?"Raymond scoffs, sounding both disgusted and disappointed,
ㅤ"I thought you were doing good, old coot. 'For the safety of this realm', you said. Yeah right. As long as we're useful to you.”Cthothe stares back at Raymond. But Raymond doesn’t back down. With an attempt to converse in equal grounds, Cthothe’s true form slowly melts away and black tar starts to gather at one spot, now re-emerging back as Clement.ㅤㅤ“I meant what I said, Worthington. And I will not send someone to danger if they don't know what they’re dealing with.”
ㅤㅤ“DO THEY? You know damn well the nexus spots everywhere right now are unstable and you sent people–MY SISTER, for one– into danger because what, because you can’t be bothered to sit down your greedy arse for once? So you sent people away unknowingly to realms for you to fish intel from them?!”
ㅤㅤ“Elders and their subjects could not see through each other’s realms and plots, You know I need to send someone to see through the veil.”Clement’s voice rises to match Raymond’s, but then he lets out a sigh,ㅤㅤ"I may have underestimated mortal's ambitions, and that is a mistake I shall not repeat.
ㅤㅤBut your sister and her friends are not the only ones in danger.
ㅤㅤYour entire realm is in danger. They know this. They know the risks to safe this realm and this is one of them.”Raymond clenches his jaw and fists at Clement’s words. The way Clement sees mortals as expendables. Pawns. Things to help his own ambitions. Has all the anomalies happening was the price of Cthothe's experiments that the people in this realm has to pay?ㅤㅤ"Raymond." Clement's voise is calm, yet stern
ㅤㅤ"You want to pay for what you did by throwing yourself into danger. Making arrangements for these people to connect with other elders in hope one of them would accept your soul as a bargaining chip to your peaceful rest.
ㅤㅤJump into this matter, and you forfeit your only chance of rest. Are you willing to risk that?"The look on Raymond’s face is a mix of anger, worry, confusion, and panic. He knows that despite Clement being detached to the mortals he sees as pawn, at the moment he was correct. He needs the people here to prevent things from going from bad, to worse. But to risk his only family member in danger does not sit right with him.ㅤㅤ“I’m going after Sarah and the others.”As Raymond was about to rush his way out of Clement’s office—CRACK! A loud sounds of crackling followed by a tremor shakes the ground beneath them.ㅤㅤ“Then I wish you the best. Plead to the void they'll take you kindly because none of us will.”
ㅤ----------
You have been spending your time outside of campus as of late. With the WFH officially announced, you really don’t have to go there now. Though, you felt something really wrong was going on. Why announce the WFH? What’s with the island issuing a temporary lockdown? Questions swirl in your mind and grow within days. But eventually, your days go as normally goes.Until one day.
You look to the skies.Red.

A loud sound of crackling fills the air as you see on the west a bright red beam piercing through the skies, cracking the blue skies open into fragments as if one went through a glass and shatters it. The ground tremors as the spectacle–or horror, depends how you see it–happening right in front of you. And everyone sees it too. You feel a tight clutch in your chest. As if something took your breath away for one second. You felt dread. Panic. You weren’t sure what it was but you feel a surge inside you.You look at your hands. Everything is blurry. You feel like your magic seeps out from you yet also amplified at the same time, in and out. You feel like you couldn’t control your magic, your transformation, your mythos powers. You feel… So, so…. sick.

EPILOGUE
It has been a few days since the explosion in the skies. Everyone had been enveloped in panic, as destruction hit CIT and every mythos around them were exposed due to the unstable magic in the air. Medias all over the world covered the story on how a magical explosion causes chaos throughout the world, and the government had done their best to contain the matter around CIT while also keeping the rest of the areas with nexus spots safe.Which eventually, did bring some calm through the days despite the looming red skies. However, the calm doesn’t last long. Day by day, the residents of the island sensed something was off. The environment wasn’t as it used to be. Weird plants starting to grow in places, immeasurable heat reported had spiked in certain places. The skies which once were red, sometimes turn into hypnotic blues or to a raving orange. With each day that passes, the ground they walk on feels unfamiliar by day and everyone seems to be sensing it. Something was wrong.Sarren, pacing at the infirmary as he tends to the extra patient from the hospital’s overflow, had him working harder than usual. Then he noticed that things had been off. His patients’ transformation hasn’t been as erratic as ever, though for a lot of them, it is harder to stay in their hume form than they were in their true forms.ㅤㅤIs something in the air after that blast in CIT?
ㅤㅤ…. Did HE have anything to do with this?Sarren, suspicious of the recent changes while also armed with the new knowledge he had acquired from his students, braces himself up to go and question the man himself. Abraham Henry Clement.
ㅤ----------
Amidst the chaos, Raymond makes his way to Al-Ghali, teleporting to a spot reachable and safe enough for him to land. He hurriedly looked for the team and first and foremost, his sister, Sarah, hoping that she’s at least still safe. The situation there itself wasn’t looking good. Ever since the blast, coral reefs have sprouted here and there, as one of the sea-elders’ realm began to seep into Al-Ghali, affecting its environment and slowly turning the residents into oceanic abominations.ㅤㅤ“SARAH!” Raymond shouted throughout the coral-invested hallways.
ㅤㅤ“We’re here! Anybody! Help!”Running towards the sound, Raymond eventually finds Sarah and the rest caught between the nexus and reality. The group is surrounded–and protected–by a thin, polyhedral veil that prevents them from being affected by the infesting corals.ㅤㅤ“Help us! We’ve been stuck here since–Wait…. Raymond?!” Sarah exclaimed upon the shock of seeing the figure.
ㅤㅤ“Questions later! I need to get you out of there!”With the remainder of his abilities, Raymond focuses on the space between him and the veil. Taking a deep breath, he focuses his mind and gestures his hand to make a portal on where he stands that opens to the other side of the veil. For a brief moment, he flickers. Fading in and out of realities as his figure is rapidly replaced by images of himself from different worlds and time. But none of that matters now. Getting his sister and her friends out and back to the island safely in time is all that matters.ㅤㅤ“Raymond!” Sarah called out to his brother,Then soon, blinding white light fills the entire room. The rumbling sounds of the interior soons fades. It was a moment of total solitude within the blinding white light for a few moments, and soon the light started to fade. As the group began to open their eyes, the familiar view greets them back. The sounds of people passing, stopping by. Giving the group a weird look as they stopped at Klieverde’s Town Square. Everything seems to be… Normal again. To a degree.Elliot looks up to the skies. The red beam, indigo hue and fiery orange skies aren’t there anymore.
The island is overcast. Thick dark clouds loomed around, as if it were about to rain. There seems to be no threat as it were before, but Elliot couldn’t help but feel something is amiss. Something that… He had a feeling it had something to do with his patron.

Starting Setting:

Prologue:
You were on your way out from the campus as you felt something slipping off from your bag. A paper? Colorful paper, nontheless. What strikes you is the badly chosen font of the paper's title, saying;HALLOWEEN GAMES! Tomorrow Night, (8pm) @ Athletic Center! It took you a while, but it seems to be some sort of a...party* invitation? Somebody didn't get the memo that our campus has a graphic design class, it seems. You tuck in the paper again, thinking. Now that the students and faculties are settling in just fine, a few seniors has just the idea in mind to bond and merge the new kids with the old ones. And what's great, Halloween is just right at the corner. Maybe it would be interesting to check it out...
ㅤ
Session Conclusion:
It was all a fun event for the campus. Students were grouped for a fun activity in the halloween event. A game of hide and seek, but with little trinkets instead.Everything is all fun until the group felt something off with the crowd, namely an important figure of the campus---Mr. Clement. But, as everything are, the games are still on.Filled with fun horror and tricks, the game was all innocent. Nico and Dante, from each of their groups, found something off with their surroundings. Eventually, they were met in a very, off-worldly environment, facing an unknown entity that introduces himself as 'Cthothe'. He requested the both to aid him as his eyes, in which, both declines. And without further inquiry, he lets Dante and Nico away.Outside, turns out the campus has marked them 'missing' albeit not showing until a few hours later. The campus was worried, the word spread and everyone is aware of something is going on with the campus. But like eveyrthing else, eventually things went back to normal. Only to some, the experience sticks into their heads.
